Bring Discover Your Purpose to your school!

Our program has three components that can be facilitated independently or as a complete system.

1. The Curriculum

2. Educator Training

3. Workshops & Events

1. THE CURRICULUM

There are three phases to the DYP Curriculum:

  1. STAGE ONE: DISCOVER
We offer the first stage of the completely free. Simply click on the FREE Fast Start Guide button at the top of this page. In phase one, students discover their uniqueness, such as personality traits, interests, and learning styles. They learn the value of skills such as perseverance and teamwork and how to communicate their attributes and competencies to an external environment.

  2. STAGE TWO: Develop
In this stage, students use what they already know about themselves to cultivate and grow their skills by examining where they are right now and where they want to be. Students leverage confidence and competence to create short-term and long-term goals for their education and their future.

  3. STAGE THREE: Live
In this stage, students live their purpose through real-world experiences inside and outside of their communities. Activities such as connecting with a mentor (virtually or in person), creating a personal business plan, and demonstrating how they will be effective in their career goal prepare students for a successful life outside the classroom walls.

The curriculum seamlessly wraps around what you’re already teaching while helping kids build self-awareness and connect with a motivating vision for their future.

2. EDUCATOR TRAINING

Learn how to get the most out of the CAYS curriculum:

  • Add new interaction exercises to your teacher toolkit—to foster more trust and connection with your students

  • Help your students feel less anxious and frustrated by providing opportunities for interesting self-reflection

  • Nurture personal well-being and confidence while helping young people develop essential life skills

Based on our case studies, schools that adopt the DYP curriculum experience increased attendance, better classroom engagement, decreased stress for students and teacher and higher graduation rates.

How educator training works:

Part One: Discover

OVERVIEW | STANDARDS | ASSESSMENT

Through targeted activities and hands-on learning, you’ll Discover how the stages of the CAYS curriculum are specifically designed to meet the goals you have for student learning.

You’ll be immersed in the research-based curriculum as you Experience, Discover, Define, and Reflect while learning a specific pedagogy, standards, and assessment practices that are used consistently throughout the curriculum.

Part Two: Develop

CURRICULUM MAPPING

We’ll review all workshops and use templates to Develop an individualized curriculum map detailing when workshops will be taught in your classroom.

You’ll collaborate and use core content standards, literacy standards, project outcomes, standards for career ready practice, and essential skills in a sequential manner, relevant to your personal teaching goals.

Part Three: Live

DISCOVER & SHARE YOUR OWN PURPOSE

You will Live your own purpose by diving deeper into the curriculum as a learner.

As a culminating activity, you’ll share your feedback and insights through an ‘expression’ that ignites the community and creates space to practice with prompts and rubrics used in the student experience.

Uncover a sense of purpose in life and you can survive nearly anything.

  • Data doesn’t lie. Students are more motivated to lean in and learn when the subject matter is interesting and actually means something to them.

The Discover Your Purpose lessons build a bridge between standardized curriculum and each student’s unique identity. It empowers young people to reframe learning as a pathway to a meaningful personal life and fulfilling career direction.

  • The lessons are for educators, school systems, and youth empowerment organizations that feel the weight of young people struggling to find their way. Today’s youth are bombarded by a reality that prioritizes comparison, perfection, and achievement over authenticity, courage, and purpose.

The Discover Your Purpose lessons include easy-to-implement self-discovery exercises that are fun and can be adapted to the learning needs of students from 10 to 19 years old. Discover Your Purpose can be taught in and out of the classroom. It can also be integrated into youth empowerment organizations and after-school programs.

  • We understand the long hours and stress that teachers take on each day in service to our youth. The CAYS program was designed for educators by educators. The modules are flexible—meaning, teachers can continue what they’re doing and simply incorporate a few tweaks that will improve connection, trust, and engagement with their students.

Lessons don’t need to be taught in sequential order. Think of the modules as different ‘grab and go’ tools in your teacher toolkit. The Discover Your Purpose resources can be infused into existing coursework effortlessly. Along the way, you’ll learn proven methods that build your skills and nurture connection, confidence, and motivation in your students from the inside out.

  • The CAYS curriculum was designed for educators by educators. It meets Core Content ELA Standards and Standards for Career Readiness. School systems that adopt the curriculum report improved attendance and higher test scores. Students who go through the CAYS curriculum double their college-going rates and they go to college motivated with a plan for their future!

  • Students often act out because they’re frustrated, bored, or feel unsupported, left out, or lost. The resources in the Discover Your Purpose materials give students new ways of putting language around what they’re feeling and help them navigate relationships with teachers, parents, and peers more easily.

The Discover Your Purpose program helps improve classroom culture—empowering students to feel more secure in their identity and their dreams for the future.
