People are excited and motivated to succeed when someone in their world supports and roots for them— friends, family members, a mentor, a coach, a youth club counselor, or other community members.

Teachers are on the front lines of a myriad of social issues from the pandemic to the threat of school shootings. Sadly, their hours are long, their stress is high, and their pay? Often, it’s ridiculous considering what our society has come to expect of them.

Teachers care about their students—current and past—but they often don’t have the resources or enough time in the day to be and provide everything young people need in order to navigate their educational, social, or family challenges.
